Fine Arts Museum
Vietnam
An elegant 1929 colonial-era building filled with period details, an impressive selection of art, statues and historical pieces. They are carefully displayed in this yellow and white building, which is also something to appreciate.
Much of the contemporary art is inspired by the war and dates back to the 4th century. Some examples of this are Funan-era sculptures of Vishnu, the Buddha and other revered Buddhist figures. These sculptures are carved in both wood and stone and Cham art from the 7th century to the 14th century.
Do not forget to also visit building number two, which houses lesser known works and is the place where they stage exhibitions. This second building is closed on Monday.
