From Hue: Vietnam's DMZ Full-Day Group or Private Tour
29 ReviewsTravel back in and learn about the Vietnam War from a unique perspective on a full-day tour visiting the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) in the Quang Tri Province.
The stories and displays might be one-sided, but many of the materials used to display the horrors of the Vietnam/American War come from US sources. There are tanks, helicopters, planes, guns, ammunition, and some heart-wrenching photographs that are difficult to justify.
In this museum you will get a good picture of things that happened during the war, from the Vietnamese point of view. The displays tell you the story of the victims from the atrocities of the US military.
The museum has three floors and an outside area. On the ground floor posters, propaganda, and newspapers are displayed that illustrate the worldwide support in the anti-war campaign. The second floor shows disturbing pictures of the horror that took place, which is not suitable for small children. On the top floor you also find pictures from the aftermath of the war, weaponry and other displays. The most horrific exhibit for many people shows photos of children born in the past couple years that have severe deformities due to the effects of Agent Orange.
Plan on a somber, but meaningful afternoon that you surely will not forget.
