Description

Step into the living silk heritage of Hoa Lu and discover how Vietnamese silk is made from mulberry leaf to finished fabric.

Your experience begins at our traditional silk workshop in the historic Ha Trao craft village, Ninh Binh.

Walk through the mulberry garden and learn how mulberry leaves are grown and harvested to feed silkworms. Visit the silkworm-rearing area, observe the different stages of their life cycle, and see how mature silkworms create their cocoons.

Continue to the traditional silk-reeling and weaving area, where local artisans demonstrate how silk threads are extracted from cocoons, prepared and woven on traditional looms.

The highlight of the Immersive Silk experience is your own hands-on craft session.

You will receive a 100% silk scarf and learn how to dye it using colors inspired by natural materials and traditional techniques. Afterwards, sit with a local artisan for an introductory hand-embroidery lesson and add your own handmade details to the scarf.

Your finished silk scarf becomes a personal souvenir that you can take home.
