Begin with a short introduction to the basic technique and a demonstration of how to use the tools. After that, the creative process is yours. Choose your own patterns and create your design directly onto the fabric using beeswax. There is no need to follow a fixed template or produce a perfect result. Take your time, experiment with your design, and enjoy the process at your own pace.
Once you finish your part, your host takes over the next stage. The fabric is carefully dyed with indigo and left to develop and dry using the traditional process. Because natural dyeing requires additional time, the final stage is completed after your session rather than while you wait.
Your finished textile can then be arranged for collection or delivery, giving you a handmade souvenir created from a design that you made yourself.
