Unlock your creativity and pick up a timeless skill in this 3-hour wood carving workshop, set in the peaceful village of Gonoi, just 30 minutes from Hoi An Old Town - a perfect escape from the tourist bustle.
Under the guidance of a masterful Vietnamese artisan, you’ll use chisels and traditional tools to transform a simple block of wood into a stunning frame art, spoon, hairpin, necklace - gradually uncovering hidden shapes like flowers, animals, or whatever inspires you.
Once you arrive at the gate, meet our talented artist, who’ll take you on a quick tour of two incredible art rooms. First, step into the world of the father, a celebrated national artist, whose mini museum showcases massive sculptures that bring Vietnamese history and culture to life.
Then, step into the next room to check out the son’s modern carvings, where his passion for anime and modern characters shines through. Known worldwide as ‘Woodart Vietnam,’ his YouTube channel boasts over a million followers
After a quick tour of the factory, head to the class by the river. On the other side are green cornfields, with mountains peeking in the distance.
You will be shown step-by-step instructions on how to use the chisel to carve your wood art - no worries if you encounter difficulties, the artisans will jump in to help you right away.
