Welcome to our authentic knife-making workshop, located in the famous Da Sy craft village, a traditional forge with over 600 years of rich blacksmithing history! Instead of a commercial classroom, you will step directly into a real local blacksmith's home and workshop to experience the genuine daily life and time-honored craft of Vietnamese artisans.
You will be warmly guided by our parents, with our father being a 3rd-generation master blacksmith who carries decades of family heritage and passion for blade crafting.
Here is what your step-by-step journey looks like:
Step 1: Choose your preferred traditional Vietnamese knife design.
Step 2: Forge the steel using traditional blacksmith techniques.
Step 3: Shape the knife with workshop machines.
Step 4: Perform the first grinding to create the blade edge.
Step 5: Heat-treat and harden the blade for strength.
Step 6: Grind and sharpen the blade a second time.
Step 7: Refine the blade to make it thinner and sharper.
Step 8: Attach the handle and assemble the knife.
Step 9: Water-sharpen the blade to a razor-sharp edge.
Step 10: Finish, package, and take home your handmade knife.
