Description
Discover one of Vietnam's most unforgettable railway journeys as you travel between Da Nang and Hue along the legendary Hai Van Pass. More than simply a transfer between two cities, this scenic train ride is an experience in itself, offering spectacular coastal landscapes that can only be seen from the railway.
Following the historic North–South Railway, the train winds through lush mountains, tropical forests, peaceful fishing villages, hidden beaches, and the stunning coastline overlooking Lang Co Bay. As it climbs across Hai Van Pass, you'll enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the sea and surrounding mountains—making this one of the most scenic train journeys in Southeast Asia and a favorite among photographers and railway enthusiasts.
Unlike traveling by bus or private car, the railway reaches places inaccessible by road. With fewer tunnels and no highway traffic, the train offers uninterrupted views and a slower, more relaxing journey through the heart of Central Vietnam. Sit back, watch local life unfold outside your window, and enjoy a unique perspective of Vietnam's natural beauty.
This ticket is designed for travelers who want to experience the famous Hai Van Pass by rail. Depending on your selected departure date and operational availability, you may travel on the specially themed Heritage Train or another Vietnam Railways service operating along the same scenic route. Regardless of the train assigned, every service follows the identical railway across Hai Van Pass, allowing you to enjoy the same breathtaking scenery throughout the journey.
The Heritage Train offers a distinctive onboard atmosphere inspired by Vietnam's railway heritage and is available on selected departures only. Due to its limited capacity, Heritage Train seats may sell out well in advance. When unavailable, travelers will be booked on a regular Vietnam Railways service operating on the same route.
Seats are assigned directly by Vietnam Railways. Specific seat numbers, window seats, travel direction, or seating together cannot be guaranteed. The railway company may change the coach configuration, so the same seat number can sometimes be by the window and other times not.
