ITINERARY 08:00 am – 08:30am – Meet the driver (NO LOCAL GUIDE) at Phu My Port (Vung Tau city), transfer to Ho Chi Minh (75 km). 09:30 am - Arrive at HCMC and meet the Tour guide. Get ready for a whole day to discover the city. Ho Chi Minh City – formerly named Saigon – is Vietnam’s largest city. Saigon is a fast-paced city with a unique mix of French colonial architecture, Chinese influences, a modern entrepreneurial spirit and numerous temples. War Remnants Museum The War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City first opened to the public in 1975. Once known as the ‘Museum of American War Crimes’, it's a shocking reminder of the long and brutal Vietnam War. Graphic photographs and American military equipment are on display. Duration: 30 minutes Thien Hau Temple One of the most important pagodas in the city, this richly decorated temple is dedicated to Thien Hau, the Goddess of the Sea and patron of sailors. She is said to travel over the oceans on a mat and ride the clouds to wherever she desires. Duration: 30 minutes China town Settled in the late 18th century, this labyrinthine section of Ho Chi Minh City bustles with restaurants, temples, exotic stores, and Binh Tay market (This is the main marketplace in ChinaTown, where a great deal of wholesale trading occurs). Experience the commotion of this integral part of the city's daily business. Duration: 60 minutes Lunch (12:30 – 13:30) Duration: 60 minutes Independence Palace You will start your tour with The Reunification Palace, used to be the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam. On 30 April 1975, when a North Vietnam soldier set foot inside this building with a red flag on hand, the whole world knew that the Vietnam war was ending. Duration: 45 minutes Central Post Office The Central Post Office is a beautifully preserved remnant of French colonial times and perhaps the grandest post office in all of Southeast Asia. Located next door to Notre Dame Cathedral, the two cultural sites can be visited together and offers visitors a chance to imagine life in Vietnam during the times of the Indochinese Empire. Duration: 20 minutes 14:30 – 15:00: Shopping (by tourist’s request) Option 1: Ben Thanh Market Option 2: Saigon Square 15:00 Farewell to the tour guide in Ho Chi Minh City, the driver transfers passengers back to the port (NO GUIDE). 16:30 – Arrive at Phu My Port.
