Description

Private Tour: Tram Gian Pagoda Visit the Tram Gian Pagoda, also known as Quang Nghiem Pagoda or Tien Lu Pagoda, one of the “four great scenic spots of the Doai region.” This ancient pagoda, dating back to the Ly Dynasty, is located on a hill about 50 meters high. Explore this national monument with high artistic value, a famous spiritual destination in Hanoi. Not only local people but also tourists from all over the world love to come here to visit, worship Buddha, and find peace of mind. Discover the pagoda’s unique architecture, nestled in the middle of a small, pretty hill, creating a poetic scene. The pagoda has a total of 104 rooms, divided into 3 main architectural clusters, perhaps that is why the pagoda is called Tram Gian. Learn about the legend of Saint Boi, associated with the pagoda. Legend has it that during the Tran Dynasty, in Boi Khe village, there was a woman who dreamed of Buddha and then gave birth to a son. Her parents died when she was young, and the son became a monk at Dai Bi pagoda in the village. During his studies at the pagoda on the mountain, he mastered many supernatural powers. After being appointed as a monk by King Tran in the capital, he asked the king to return to the village to build a new pagoda. At the age of 95, he sat on a wooden platform and passed away. After 100 days, his disciples opened the platform and smelled a fragrant aroma that filled the whole area. Seeing this, the villagers and his disciples built a tower to worship Saint Boi. Admire the beautiful wide stone staircase, the railing is two majestic ancient stone dragon statues with two rows of cool and poetic green trees on both sides. When entering the pagoda gate, you will encounter four pillars and 2 stalls.
