Option: Private Tour: Dia Tang Phi Lai Pagoda & Incense Village Begin your day with a visit to the Dia Tang Phi Lai Pagoda, located in Ninh Trung village, Liem Son commune, Thanh Liem district, Ha Nam province. This pagoda, originally known as Dzung Pagoda, is famous for its sacred and historical artifacts. Admire the pagoda's unique architecture, which leans against the mountain and is surrounded by pine forests, creating a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. Learn about the pagoda's history, which dates back to the 11th century, and its significance as a place of worship and seclusion for King Tran Nghe Tong. Explore the pagoda's layout, which is different from other pagodas. In front of the main chamber, twelve circles are drawn on the gravel background, featuring twelve human destinies. The statue of Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha is placed solemnly inside the chamber. On the right of the main chamber, the ancestral hall is a worshipping place for 42 generations of monks of the pagoda. There is a small hall dedicated to Quan The Am (Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva), Duc Ong and Duc Thanh Hien, a housing area for monks and nuns and Buddhists followers in the pagoda, a lecture hall where Buddhist followers listen to the head monk’s daily sermon and a guest house for tourists and those participating in retreats and experiences at the pagoda. Next, head to Quang Phu Cau Incense Village, where you can learn about the process of making incense from local artisans. Discover how bamboo sticks are carefully selected and undergo meticulous screening before being used. Take striking photos against vibrant backdrops of radiant red incense bundles drying in the sun. These oversized incense bundles, with their clustered heads and rounded bases, serve as perfect focal points for memorable photos. Option HALF DAY Group Tour : Visit 2 Villages: Conical Hat and Incense Craft Village + Train Street (optional) Duration: ~ 6 hours Morning from 7:45~13:30 Afternoon from 11:45~17:30 Start with a pickup from Hanoi’s Old Quarter and head to Chuong, a village that has been well-known for the craft of conical hat-making for over 300 years. Get an observe how conical hats are made and decorate a hat by painting it then bring it home as a souvenir. Depart for the Quang Phu Cau village, which has been producing incense for more than 100 years. Take a walk to the center of the village and see how locals make incense on the artisanal, family scale. Meet a family who specializes in dyeing incense sticks and take in the colorful bundles of incense. Back to the city center. First place for drop off: Hanoi Train Street.
