Day 1: Ba Vì National Park & Đường Lâm Village + Overnight on Ba Vì Peak Start your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Hanoi. Drive 1.5 hours to Ba Vì National Park. Explore the park, stopping at the Cactus Garden, Pine Forest, and the French Church Ruins. Optionally, visit the medicinal herb garden or French military ruins. Enjoy a lunch of local mountain-style dishes. Then, transfer to Đường Lâm Ancient Village for a guided tour. See the Mông Phụ Communal House, ancient laterite houses, and village lanes. Try traditional snacks like chè lam and kẹo lạc, and visit Mia Pagoda, one of Vietnam’s oldest. Return to Ba Vì National Park and drive up toward the upper mountain resort area. Check in at your accommodation on Ba Vì Peak. Choose from Ba Vì Resort, Belvedere Resort Ba Vì, or Melia Ba Vì Mountain Retreat. For a more adventurous experience, opt for a tented mountain camp near the peak (weather permitting). Relax in the cool mountain air and enjoy dinner at the resort. Spend the night on Ba Vì Peak. Day 2: Sunrise Cloud Hunting at the Peak + Mai Châu Valley Tour Wake up early and prepare for cloud hunting. Drive or hike to the Ba Vì summit area. Choose your peak: Vua Peak (King Peak), Tản Viên Peak, or Ngọc Hoa Peak. Watch the sea of clouds roll through the mountains at sunrise, capturing dramatic golden sun rays. Return to your hotel for breakfast, relax, and check out. Depart for Mai Châu Valley, enjoying a scenic 2.5–3 hour mountain drive. Have lunch in Mai Châu at a White Thai ethnic family house, savoring traditional dishes. Explore the villages of Lạc and Pom Coong by bike or on foot. Walk through rice fields and bamboo forests, visit stilt houses, and watch weaving demonstrations. Optionally, take a short trek to rural villages, visit Go Lao Waterfall, or go bamboo rafting (seasonal). Return to Hanoi, arriving at your hotel in the evening.
