Description

Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Sa Pa at 7:00 AM, and you’ll embark on a scenic 110-kilometer drive to Bac Ha Market. You will arrive at around 10:00 AM, just as the market reaches its lively peak. Recognized as the largest and most famous upland market in Vietnam, Bac Ha offers a truly authentic glimpse into the cultural life of ethnic minorities such as the Flower Hmong, Tay, Nung, and Dao peoples. Every Sunday, from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, locals gather here to trade everything from fresh produce, livestock, and handmade textiles to traditional crafts. The market is also a vibrant social event where people meet friends, exchange news, and young men and women may even find their future partners. After exploring the colorful market, you’ll continue to Pho Village, located about 2 kilometers from Bac Ha town. This charming Flower Hmong village offers a deeper insight into local traditions and daily life. You’ll have the opportunity to visit a local home, observe everyday activities, learn about their customs, and enjoy a leisurely one-hour walk through the peaceful village surroundings. Your journey then continues toward Lao Cai city, with a short stop at a green tea farm, where you’ll discover the fascinating process of tea production — from the tea fields to the teapot. You’ll then visit the Ha Khau border gate, marking the frontier with China, followed by a stop at the Mau Temple, an important spiritual site of the region. The tour concludes with a drop-off in Lao Cai around 4:00 PM, or a comfortable return to Sa Pa by around 5:00 PM, leaving you with lasting memories of this enriching cultural experience.
