08:00 – 08:30 – Our guide will meet you at your accommodation and start the 100 km modern bus journey through the verdant countryside, taking a short-break en route. 11:00 – Arrive at Bai Dinh pagoda complex and take an electric car to view the massive architecture of this site, including – the 500 stone statues of Arhats; the Bell tower with 27 tons and 36 tons bronze bells; and the Golden statue of the Goddess of Mercy. Walk up the mountain summit to the bronze statue of Buddha Sakyamuni – 10 metres tall and weighing 100 tons. The amazing views, sacred atmosphere and intriguing stories of Buddhism by our local guide cannot fail to enchant. 13:00 – Enjoy a lavish buffet lunch in a local restaurant 14:00 – Embark on a 2-hour sampan boat journey in Trang An – a spectacular labyrinth of emerald waters reflecting the towering, jungle-clad limestone outcrops. You will be gently rowed down this exquisite river through numerous caves : Hang Toi, 320 metres long; Sang cave, 90 metres long; and Hang Nau Ruou, 250 metres long. Every turn reveals a new surprise hidden mysteriously within the isolated tranquil valleys which will transport you to another world and time. 16:15 – Leisurely cycling on country lanes alongside the extensive canal network and through small villages with a maze of limestone mountains as backdrop. 17:30 – Return to shuttle bus for return trip to Hanoi 20:00 – Drop off at your accommodation in Hanoi Old Quarter. Trip ends.
