Description

Your day begins early with pickup from 7:20–7:45 AM at your accommodation in Ho Chi Minh City. Relax in an air-conditioned van as you journey 60 km (about 37 miles) to the first destination: Monkey Island (also known as Monkey United). Upon arrival at Monkey Island, you’ll have time to explore the area and interact with the playful long-tailed macaques that freely roam this protected site. This is a rare opportunity to get close to these lively primates in their natural habitat—just remember to keep your belongings secure, as the monkeys are very curious! Next, your guide will take you to the Crocodile Farm, home to an impressive collection of these ancient reptiles. Observe the crocodiles up close, marvel at their strength and size, and—if you visit on a Saturday, Sunday, or major public holiday—you can even try your hand at crocodile fishing, an exciting experience offered only on these special days. As you explore the Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve, keep an eye out for various wildlife species, including birds, reptiles, and amphibians living along the riverbanks. The journey continues with a one-way speedboat ride through the lush mangrove forest. Glide gently along the tranquil waterways, surrounded by towering mangrove trees and rich vegetation, and admire the pristine beauty of Can Gio National Park, a UNESCO-designated biosphere reserve. Your next stop is a Vietnam War guerrilla base hidden deep in the forest. Your guide will share fascinating stories and insights about the site’s historical significance and the resilience of the soldiers who once lived and fought here. Around midday, enjoy a delicious meal at a local restaurant, featuring a selection of traditional Vietnamese dishes. After lunch, you’ll have time to relax, or if available, take a refreshing dip in the restaurant’s swimming pool. Before returning to Ho Chi Minh City, if the Can Gio market is open on the day of your visit, you’ll have the opportunity to stop by, browse local products, and pick up souvenirs. Please note: The Can Gio market does not operate every day, and its opening days vary throughout the week. Before heading back, your guide will present you with a special gift: ready-to-drink bird’s nest soup, a popular and nutritious delicacy in Vietnam. Finally, relax in the van as you return to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving at your accommodation around 5:00 PM, marking the end of an enriching day immersed in nature and culture.
